The bearing seat within the housing is machined to tolerance class G7, and the standard material used is grey cast iron. Customization options include the use of alternative materials. 722500 flanged housings are made from grey cast iron and feature simple mounting with alignment lines and dowel pin positions cast into the flange. An integrated grease guiding system ensures proper lubrication, supported by two predrilled holes for relubrication—one centered and one offset. Low-friction double-lip seals on both sides retain grease and exclude contaminants, allowing rotational speeds twice that of traditional felt seals. The housings are painted black (RAL 9005) with a water-based alkyd/acryl paint that provides corrosion protection per ISO 12944-2 (category C2). Unpainted surfaces have rust inhibitor protection, and repainting with common paints is possible.
722500-G flange housings improve assembly and allow the use of split seals. Low-friction 2-lip seals prevent contamination and support higher speeds. Drill holes allow for easy relubrication.
GG20 offers excellent machinability and is highly heat and corrosion-resistant. Additionally, this material provides outstanding finishing capabilities and exhibits excellent properties concerning sound and vibration damping. However, its strength and wear resistance are limited.
