In all areas of mechanical and plant engineering, plain bearings according to DIN 502 to DIN 506 can be found. The applications of these bearings are unlimited, with a sliding speed of up to 1.5 m/s, allowing for diverse possibilities. The bearing housing is manufactured from high-quality gray cast iron of grade GG 25. The structural design of the housing enables high loads and reliable operational safety. Optionally, plain bearings according to DIN 502 to DIN 504 are available with or without red brass bushing, complying with DIN 8221. For additional applications, materials such as bronze, bronze with solid lubricant reservoir, plastic, or composite materials are also available. For cover bearings according to DIN 506, gray cast iron bearing shells are available, allowing for usage even at high temperatures. The bore tolerance for all bearings is D10.

- Maintenance: Regular lubrication is recommended to ensure the longevity and reliability of the bearings under continuous operation
Maximum allowable compaction pressures depend on various factors including material compatibility, surface roughness, shaft dimensions, bearing clearance, alignment quality, load direction, lubrication status, and bearing temperature. Guide values for specific compaction pressures should not be exceeded under normal operating conditions. This includes shaft diameter within tolerance zone h9, surface roughness of Ra ≤ 5μm, and adequate lubrication. Maximum sliding speed: v = 1.5 m/s, frictional power: PR = F·v·μ, where F is the bearing load (N), v is the sliding speed (m/s), and μ is the coefficient of friction.

The sliding bearings according to DIN 502 to 506 offer versatile applications in industries such as wood, steel, chemicals, and food. With high load capacity and sliding speeds of up to 1.5 m/s, they are suitable for demanding applications like cutting head excavators and ship propulsion. The robust housings made of high-quality cast iron EN-GJL (GG) provide stability, while optional bearing shells allow for individual adjustments. Precise bearing bores meet various tolerance requirements. Efficient lubricant supply is ensured through various methods such as grease nipples, hand grease guns, and central lubrication systems. With an average grease consumption of about 20 g/m2h under normal conditions, these sliding bearings are a reliable solution for various applications.
Design limits for plain bearings should not exceed specified values, considering factors like material pairing, surface conditions, lubrication, and operating conditions

The DIN502-DIN506 plain bearings lack flexibility to accommodate misalignment or deflection due to their cylindrical design. However, the DIN505-K series utilizes a split ball design to compensate for misalignments, allowing for up to 2° of compensation.
Rg7 is a sliding material with moderate hardness, manufactured through centrifugal or continuous casting processes. Despite its good emergency running properties, it provides sufficient wear resistance. Due to its dezincification-resistant properties, this alloy is preferred and practically immune to stress corrosion cracking
